Protective Gear - Expedition F23

Workshop, Textile,  Mixed Media
In collaboration with Helena Sophia Adam

As part of Expedition F23, A.R.E.A.L Wien
During Expedition F23, we invited around 100 children from the age of 7-15 to explore what it means to go to space. For 10 days, the children were able to prepare for a mission traveling to a planet of their choice. In different workshops and labs, they created the equipment and gear needed for the expedition, built the rocket, and prepared themselves for space by learning about the solar system.

During the 10 days, the children took part in 3 different missions, each taking them to a different planet. After 3 days of preparation, the missions culminated in a 20-30min performance by the children, showcasing the products from the different workshops and exchanging the knowledge gathered.

While also being part of the organisational team of the project, during the execution of Expedition F23, I was in charge of the workshop producing protective gear. Working with materials such as cardboard, paper, Tyvek, tape, foils, and fabric, the children were tasked with designing and producing protective gear according to the demands of the individual mission.
